Tax Classes

As weird as this is going to sound, I want my tax classes to start. I have three tax classes that have been canceled for the last week. I like to have classes that get canceled, but not at the same time! They should have worked this out so they are on rotations of being canceled.

So, for the past week, I have been reading for future tax class periods, doing work for my other two classes, watching TV, listening to music, and reading An Inconvenient Book by Glenn Beck. By far, my favorite thing is reading Glenn's book. Pretty funny book with some rather interesting points about the US. I picked up a new CD (well, I got it off iTunes) by a Provo band named "Good Morning Maxfield." The beats and sounds are different than my usual collection of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and hip hop artists, but the music is pretty relaxing. Sounds more like 70's / 80's music (if I really knew what that sounded like!) than music made nowadays.

New Classes

Today was the first day of class. I arrived a school a little late than expected since I forgot to give myself extra time to scrape the windshield. Utah living . . . gotta love it. I had a class at 8:00 AM which will take an extra effort to get up in the morning. The subject, business programming, seems like an interesting topic. Hopefully, I won't be at the bottom of barrel trying to figure out what Dr. Meservy did during class. My other class, professional communication, seems like a necessary evil. I talked my friend about it and he said he learned a lot from the class. He didn't necessary feel the same way about the class when he signed up for the class. More classes tomorrow . . . it's tax time.

Another Year...

For my birthday this year, my friend let me teach the Sunday School lesson in the YSA ward. I used to be a Sunday School teacher over summer, so he thought it would be a great idea for me to co-teach with him. Lucky for me and for him, the manual was Gospel Principles--the manual I used continuously during my time in South Africa. I do believe that most of the wards that I served in had an assigned teacher, but somehow the missionaries always found the pleasure of teaching.

I received the Bourne Ultimatum for my birthday present from my parents. They had a little help from Katie, my sister, on picking out that movie. I think that it is a really good movie, if you take some Dramamine beforehand. The production crew forgot to turn on the stability control when they filmed the movie. I didn't ask for much for my birthday and Christmas this year except for some money. I am trying to stuff some money under my mattress to get ready for next year's tuition--Pell Grants will be a thing of the past and scholarships will still be a thing in my imagination! Luckily, my mattress is paying interest!

Here comes age 24 and year 2008!
